Managed Leadership Gift Adoption Program

The best type of culture change is

  • naturally simple
  • gradual but rapid,
  • positive, and
  • unforced.

The Managed Leadership Gift Adoption is a proven program of services to equip your leaders with the Leadership Gift so your leaders change your culture.

By applying this program, leaders naturally begin to operate at ever higher levels of responsibility. This difference ripples organically through your organization so everyone operates at higher levels.

Unique among leadership development and culture change offerings, the Managed Leadership Gift Adoption program succeeds because of the potency of the Leadership Gift and because of the proprietary proven tools honed through field work with leaders.

Who it is for

Senior leaders who recognize that agile/lean high performance depends on scaling behavior not process. Only a mindset and culture of disciplined ownership, learning, and collaboration will pull agile/lean tools and thinking into the organization.

How it works

The Managed Leadership Gift Adoption program applies a flexible set of services for learning and change. Your context is unique, so we operate in an agile fashion, in a series of short-term projects that we collaboratively plan and manage, and from which we extract and expand on learnings.

We commit to a level of effort and time frames that we expect will deliver results. We then work together to plan three months or more of services (see below). We re-plan every three months based on changing priorities and accruing results.

Your team and my team work both onsite and remotely and make mutual decisions about scheduling in order to make the most effective use of travel.

Elements of the program

The Managed Leadership Gift Adoption calls on our Leadership Gift Curriculum and our coaching services.

and other topics as additional needs are discovered.

Coaching and Mentoring

  • Mastery Groups (2.5 hours monthly with 6+ months commitment by 8–12 leaders)
  • Team and Leader Mentoring (focused on personal and professional effectiveness)
  • Change Leadership (collaborative and iterative planning and managing the change process)

How the change is sustained

This approach usually produces desired results in one to two years. This does not in itself constitute culture (i.e., deep) change. However, you will likely make promotion choices based on a leader's demonstration of his or her Leadership Gift. Candidates who don't exemplify the desired behaviors will likely not be promoted. This follow-through on your part provides potent momentum for the desired changes to become permanent in your culture.

Important success factors

This program works when one or more senior leaders personally invest in adopting the Leadership Gift. This goes beyond executive sponsorship or checkbook commitment. It means going first in the program offerings, including workshops, mentoring, and Mastery Groups.

The program also operates best when the client charters a cross-functional and cross-level team to own the change process, and allows us to coach that team.
