I'm going to leave you with the last word.

I agree with you. That's why systems thinking is a critical part of leadership...it's the old leadership / management metaphor - management is about climbing the ladder while leadership makes sure the ladder is on the right wall. Wall street crumbled because everyone was ringing their cash register within a defined game without looking at the long term systemic effects.

Now the opportunity for real responsible leadership!

Hey Stewart. I appreciate you and your powerful work in conflict resolution, agreements, and collaboration. Thanks for your comment here.

What I wrestle with is powerful ignorance -- the many leaders who believe the are adding value while they are causing much greater harm/damage/problems. And my world isn't Wall Street or Washington DC but the Board Room. Is powerful ignorance a defense?

KUDOS Christopher!

My conclusion from the piece you reference and the one in the NY Times Magazine is that the entire Wall Street financial system as been a ponzi
scheme in some ways not much different from Madoff except he was under no illusion what he was doing was legitimate. It is time to say the emperor has no clothes.

The reformer’s great challenge is that most operatives within the current system have good faith – but they are
operating and doing the best they can within a flawed system. It’s not unlike high priced lawyers operating
within a fundamentally flawed system.

Keep talking! Best regards,
