Dear Rakesh,

You are a teacher to me now. The best teachers I know claim to be but students.

Thank you for your comment. I agree. All responsibility is personal. "Social responsibility" and "corporate social responsibility" and even "shared responsibility" which I've written about at length are but manifestations of personal responsibility.

I appreciate your words about recognition and clarity.

By the way, I am working on a client project that could end up bringing me to India this winter to teach my Responsibility Redefined approach to teamwork in software development. I have never taught in India, maybe you can help me prepare. (-:

Dear Chris,

Thanks for publishing my blog reference. I am not a spiritual teacher - I am only a student. I am from India (though presently in London) - and madhyasth-darshan (jeevan vidya) that I am studying and sharing is not connected with any of the philosophies of idealism or religions. On the contrary, it is proposed as alternative to idealism and materialism both.

You have asked - Whether all responsibility is personal? My answer to that is - Yes. Responsibility gets its definition only when one recognizes one's relationship with other (person or rest of the environment). Once the relationship is recognized - it becomes personal. Here "personal" is not used in its prevalent narrow sense.

regards,
Rakesh.
